I hand-cut this freeform bead and left the entire face in its natural surface, just as it came from the earth. The edges and back are polished smooth for comfort and wearability. Measurements are listed in the title in millimeters.
2.5mm drill hole.

This material is a newly discovered blue orbicular granite from Pakistan — completely NATURAL and UNTREATED. The Pakistani miners and the U.S. importers are marketing it as “K2 Blue Jasper,” named after K2, the second-highest mountain on Earth, located in the region where this stone was found. But despite the name, this is very much a granite, not a jasper. The blue orbs are reported to be azurite inclusions, though one university chemist insists his tests showed they are not azurite and is still determining their exact composition. A geological mystery wrapped in a mountain myth — my favorite kind of stone.
The indigo “poppy” dots scattered across the surface look like tiny Himalayan flowers blooming out of ancient rock. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece of the Earth.
Metaphysically, stones from high mountainous regions carry the energy of altitude — clarity, perspective, and spiritual lift. Granite is grounding, steadying, and deeply stabilizing, while the blue inclusions bring intuitive insight, enhanced perception, and inner vision. This combination is often seen as a stone of higher guidance: helping you stay firmly rooted while reaching toward greater wisdom. It supports calm focus, mental strength, and the ability to see the bigger picture of your life’s path. A bead for someone seeking balance between Earth and sky — grounded, centered, and open to revelation.
