DVH K2 Blue "Jasper" Azurite in Granite Heart Bead Natural Surface 47x33x13mm (6135)
I hand-cut this freeform bead and left the entire face in its natural surface, just as it came from the earth. The edges and back are polished smooth for comfort and wearability. Measurements are listed in the title in millimeters.

This material is a newly discovered blue orbicular granite from Pakistan — completely NATURAL and UNTREATED. The Pakistani miners and the U.S. importers are marketing it as “K2 Blue Jasper,” named after K2, the second-highest mountain on Earth, located in the region where this stone was found. But despite the name, this is very much a granite, not a jasper. The blue orbs are reported to be azurite inclusions, though one university chemist insists his tests showed they are not azurite and is still determining their exact composition. A geological mystery wrapped in a mountain myth — my favorite kind of stone.
The indigo “poppy” dots scattered across the surface look like tiny Himalayan flowers blooming out of ancient rock. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece of the Earth.
