DVH Collectible Art Jewelry Ring by Cynthia Toops & Dan Adams Fimo Micromosaic & Glass Ring Size 6.5
This extraordinary ring is a rare collaborative piece created by three celebrated Pacific Northwest artists: polymer micromosaic master Cynthia Toops, glass artist Dan Adams, and metalsmith Chuck Domitrovich of Down to the Wire Designs. It comes from my personal collection and was acquired directly from the artists about 25 years ago. While I once wore it on special occasions as a pinky ring, it no longer fits, and I’ve decided it’s time to pass it along to someone who will treasure it.
This is a one-of-a-kind hinged-lid ring, often referred to as a "poison ring," with a glass cabochon created by Dan Adams set on top of the lid, which opens to reveal an intricate polymer micromosaic interior by Cynthia Toops. Cynthia confirmed this is the only ring in this series with a glass cabochon on the lid—a truly unique and distinctive feature among their collaborative works.
The sterling silver setting was crafted by Chuck Domitrovich, who worked closely with both Cynthia and Dan during the late 1990s. The ring is likely dated between 1997 and 1999.
About the Artists:
Cynthia Toops is internationally renowned for her time-intensive, visionary polymer micromosaics, which draw from folk art traditions and ancient Roman techniques while incorporating her own contemporary and colorful illustrative style. Her works are included in major museum collections across the U.S., including the Smithsonian, and she is widely regarded as one of the foremost innovators in polymer clay art.
Dan Adams, Cynthia’s husband and longtime collaborator, is a master of glass, known for his bold colors and distinctive cabochons that pair beautifully with Cynthia’s detailed micromosaics.
Chuck Domitrovich is a skilled metalsmith whose work under the name Down to the Wire Designs brings an elegant and solid setting to this multi-layered artistic creation.

This ring is not only a striking piece of wearable art but also a rare example of collaborative studio jewelry that blurs the lines between adornment and artifact. A true collector’s piece.
Feel free to message me with any questions or requests for additional photos. I’m not in a rush to sell—it means a lot to me—but I’d love for it to find a new home where it will be appreciated and admired.
PRIVATE COLLECTION items are things that have special meaning to me and have been in my personal collection for decades. I've realized that I really want a photo of the item and the story of the item but don't need to the piece myself anymore. Objects have lives, they are witness to things. I hope this piece finds a nice new home. More will be revealed.
