DVH Purpurite Purple Heart Bead Pendant Iridescent w/ Quartz Namibia 40x35x19 (5885)
I hand cut this one-of-a-kind purpurite heart bead and it has been in my personal collection for about 10 years. I have a special stash of material I acquired nearly a decade ago from a single dealer at the Tucson Gem Shows around 2015. I haven’t seen this quality rough since and very little of it has quartz inclusions. This particular piece stood out even then—shot through with quartz inclusions that appear like little veins of white light inside the deep iridescent purple. A heart with internal brilliance. A healed heart, with stories written in stone.
The rich, iridescent violet glow of the purpurite comes from a light acid etch over a 600-grit sanded surface, giving it that unmistakable royal shimmer—manganese and iron in harmony, glowing like amethyst shadows. The measurements are shown in the title (in millimeters) and it features a 2.5mm side-drilled hole, suitable for most cords and chains. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED.
Purpurite is a manganese phosphate mineral that forms a series with iron-bearing heterosite. It’s not just rare—it’s dramatic, vivid, and transformative. The name itself comes from purpura, the Latin word for purple, long associated with nobility, spirituality, and power. The presence of quartz amplifies its metaphysical properties—bringing clarity and light into this dark and luscious stone.
And yes—this is a Purple Heart in every sense of the word. A medal of resilience. A talisman of recovery. A symbol of what it means to survive the unspeakable and still shine. It honors both wounds and healing, making it a powerful piece for anyone working through grief, trauma, or transformation.
