DVH Red Bowlerite Heart Bead Recycled Bowling Ball Pendant 50x38x12mm (6213)

DVH Red Bowlerite Heart Bead Recycled Bowling Ball Pendant 50x38x12mm (6213)

$ 47.99

I hand-cut and polished this one-of-a-kind Bowlerite heart bead from recycled bowling ball material. Measurements are shown in the listing title, and the bead features a 2.5mm side-drilled hole to accommodate most cords and chains. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED. Your piece ships in a gift box and includes a printed card describing the metaphysical properties of Bowlerite.

Bowlerite is made from the colored reactive urethane outer shell of vintage bowling balls—material designed for durability, precision, and repeated impact. The bowling ball ais literally sawed apart into chunks with the core discarded and  then grind, sand, drill, sand again, and polish each piece entirely by hand. The result is a limited-edition material with bold color, depth, and a subtle glow that feels both playful and powerful. I only make a handful of Bowlerite beads each year, usually heart shapes around Valentines day.

This bead is part of my long-running Heart Bead Project, a body of work I’ve been developing for decades. My "Hearts of Stone"—whether carved from natural minerals, fossils, or reclaimed industrial materials—are meant to be held close, worn, gifted, or kept as personal talismans. In Bowlerite, the heart shape becomes a symbol of joy reclaimed, resilience through reuse, and love expressed through intention and craft rather than perfection.

Metaphysically, Bowlerite carries the energy of focus, alignment, and forward motion—echoing the game it once served, where clarity, intention, and follow-through matter. Its vivid colors inspire creativity and determination, while the recycled origin speaks to transformation, sustainability, and making something meaningful from what already exists. It’s a reminder that play, devotion, and care can coexist—and that love, like this material, can be reshaped into something enduring.

Bowlerite sits comfortably alongside the other materials I work with—Fordite (built-up automotive paint), natural stone, and fossils—each telling a different story of time, pressure, and transformation. Thank you for supporting handmade work and for helping keep these uncommon materials moving forward into new lives.
