I hand cut this naturally iridescent, purpurite heart carving out of natural gemstone material from Namibia. Veins of quartz make this a broken heart that has naturally healed. There is one small, stable fracture at the base. This is the largest and most impressive piece from what is left from my stash of this rare rough. There won't be another one like this one! Measurements are shown in the listing title. Stone has been acid etched to a matte finish.
I made this from a small cache of genuine purpurite from Namibia that I was able to get my hands on at Tucson trade shows in February 2016! I sorted through several flats and picked out all the "gem" quality specimens. I only saw the one dealer with this material and I'm glad I got some because I haven't seen any quantity of quality material like this before or since!

Here's what wikipedia says about purpurite, "Purpurite is a mineral, basically manganese phosphate, MnPO4 although with varying amounts of iron depending upon the source of the mineral. It is a striking pink purple color as might be expected of a manganese-containing mineral.[1] Purpurite forms a series with the iron bearing endmember heterosite, FePO4.[2]"
Here's some metaphysical information I found online,
"Purpurite is a purple stone that encourages you to feel free to speak out... and to have confidence in your abilities to verbalize your thoughts clearly... and with total lack of obstruction. If you have been aware of any self-destructive situations, that may be limiting your personal growth, this stone helps to clear these problems. This stone has strong metaphysical properties, and is an excellent stone to help with stress. It embodies within it the violet flame energy, which is highly spiritual in nature. This energy also has powerful healing abilities, and offers strong psychic protection."
