Stuck in geological time! Two years in pandemic? WTF?
Oh dear! My last blog post was almost two years ago at the beginning of the pandemic. What a world. I've decided to start writing regularly. We'll see if I can actually make it a process and turn my magical thinking in to a magical doing practice. I'm working on multiple projects, themes, ideas. Radical Faerie Liberation School. Rhodonite Beads and Cabs!
That's the rough! Some new matte finish beads and cabs I just made from rhodonite that came from Australia. I bought a couple pounds of this rough when I was in Tucson last February. I included a picture of the rough I cut it from. I really like the completely natural rich pink color and the dark black veins of manganese oxide running through it. Covellite Beads & Cabs I Made
Some Covellite from Alaska. I got the rough in Tucson in 2018 or 19 from an Alaskan guy who collected it from a copper mine dump there over 20 years ago. It's beautiful but so filthy to cut! See how dirty my fingers STILL are after scrubbing for 3 minuteswith a nail brush and lava soap??? LOL. I've got Covellite inlaid fingerprints. I do love that natural metallic steely blue color.
