I hand cut this matte finish, freeform shaped, focal bead pendant out of some porphyry that I found during my rockhounding adventures. Measurements are in the title. 2.5mm drill hole. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED. The technical definition of "Porphyry is any of various decorative granites or igneous rocks with coarse-grained crystals such as feldspar or quartz dispersed in a fine-grained silicate-rich, generally aphanitic matrix or groundmass. The larger crystals are called phenocrysts." It is technically the same stone as Chinese Writing Rock, which New Age Gemstone expert Melody says in her book Love Is In the Earth "is an excellent stone for dreaming, assiting one in dream states..." and "It is a stone for re-affirmation, re-alignment, and re-commitment."
