Natural Fish Pattern in Fossil Walrus Ivory! Unique Organic Design, Ancient Beauty
Description:
This one-of-a-kind pendant is a natural slice of fossil walrus ivory, showcasing a striking image of a fish formed by the unique patterns of the ivory. The oatmeally texture of the secondary dentine creates the fish's body, while the unusual patterns in the primary dentine evoke fins, with natural breaks adding to the fin-like imagery. This pendant is a beautiful representation of nature's artistry, where time and the elements have come together to create a truly unique design.

Important Information
Fossil ivory and bone from walrus and mammoth are legal to buy, sell, and wear in most places in the United States. However, there are restrictions in New York, New Jersey, California, and Hawaii. We do not ship to these states or internationally. Rest assured, no modern animals were harmed in the collection of these materials—they are dug up from the earth, often from regions where they have been preserved for centuries. The fossilized material is sourced from reputable dealers who have been selling exclusively fossil rough for over 30 years.
The ivory in this pendant comes from ancient walrus teeth, found in the thawing permafrost of the Arctic. The coloration of the ivory is a result of the minerals present in the earth, making each piece unique. Fossil walrus teeth can be hundreds to thousands of years old, and they are collected sustainably by Native peoples in Alaska, Siberia, and Canada, with the material being exposed due to climate change. Woolly mammoths went extinct over 10,000 years ago, and using fossil mammoth and walrus teeth does not harm any endangered species.
