This one-of-a-kind focal bead was hand cut and polished by me out of vintage Bowlerite—recycled bowling ball material made from reactive urethane. Measurements are in the listing title, and the bead features a 2.5mm side-drilled hole. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED.
This particular bead has been in my personal collection for over 25 years and is not being released lightly. The swirling red, white, and blue pattern on the dome reveals two distinct images depending on your perspective: a leaping fish in motion from one angle, and a stoic buzzard at rest from another. If that duality speaks to you, this may be your bead—but it won’t be let go cheap!
Bowlerite is a rare and truly upcycled material. I literally saw through old bowling balls to reclaim the vivid outer shells, then grind, drill, and polish each piece entirely by hand in my Portland studio. It's a labor-intensive process and every piece is a limited-edition artifact of American leisure culture, transformed into wearable art.
Metaphysically, Bowlerite carries the energy of motion, memory, and transformation—perfect for those who honor both the joy and the gravity of the game of life.
