I custom cut this teardrop shaped focal bead out of recycled ART GLASS. It has multicolor stripes arcing through it, creating some interesting optical effects on both faces. Measures 42x18x10mm and is triple drilled with 3mm side drill holes. Satiny, matte finish. A fun and funky piece that would look good by itself or strung along with other wild beads! These beads look great against a white t-shirt, blouse, or sweater!
Chain not included. I’m always looking for unusual materials and when I was visiting some friends in Denver I got some really great stuff. My friends at Blake Street Art Glass do these big, beautiful blown glass sculptural vessels. They then saw off the edges and the bottom and then facet the faces to a mirror polish. Their work is truly amazing and quite expensive. They’ve been doing this for many years and have always just thrown the sawed off butt ends of their sculptures into a big pile in the back yard of their studio. They knew they were too beautiful to throw away but didn’t know how best to use them. Well, when I saw them I KNEW exactly how to use them. They were kind enough to give me a box of them (I begged). When I saw them a year later and showed them what I had done with them they were amazed. Another victory for recycling and reinterpretation.
