DVH Brazilian Agate Pendant I Made When I Was 10 Years Old (4413)

$ 50.00

This is the first cabochon I ever cut!  I was 10 years old and had been a member of the Michigan Gem & Mineral Society for a year before I started taking lapidary classes.  I bought a slab of Brazilian agate, was instructed on how to trim it on a trim saw, rough it out on the grinders and get a good dome on it, sanded, sanded, and sanded it until it was scratch free, and then FINALLY got a good polish on it.  I don't know why I didn't make a standard 30x40mm cabochon and instead made this freeform 47x33mm cabochon.  After it was done my Mom took me to the Hillside Rock Shop in Jackson, Michigan and we found this setting that I was able to just glue the stone to.  Naturally I gave it to my mom and she wore it in the family photo pictured here.    It's been sitting in a jewelry box in my room since she died in 1987.  It has a lot of sentimental value to me but now I have photos of it stored in the cloud and I want the image and the memory more than the object.  If someone wants to buy it then I'll sell it for $50.  24" base metal chain.
