Fossil ivory and bone from walrus and mammoth is perfectly LEGAL to buy, work, sell, and wear almost everywhere in United States. However, there are now fossil specific sales bans in NY, NJ, CA, and HI. We won't ship to those states, nor will we ship overseas. Sorry.
A really wonderful, teardrop shaped, one of a kind, bead made out of Fossil Walrus Ivory! Measures 42x27x7mm with a 3mm drill hole. The color is near white and this piece shows mostly white with a little bit of the nerve in the center. Walrus tusks are usually composed of 3 layers: the outer enamel, which is often worn down or degraded, the thick uniform primary dentine which forms in layers, and the inner core of secondary dentine, or osteodentine, which is hard but looks like fine oatmeal or applesauce. Beautiful patterns and a wonderful feel!
Chain not included. See the rest of my listings in my DVHdesigns Etsy store for more focal beads, custom cut cabochons, genuine jet mourning beads, sterling chains just for beads, and more! Also, feel free to like my DVHdesigns Custom Cut Beads page on Facebook where you can see what I'm up to in the studio, as well as see my work in fossil walrus and woolly mammoth ivory!
